Best mouth mount for you action camera

Easiest you might already have
J-buckle mount

Put some tape on it or put tooth protection on it, see Youtube link further down.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NYUzhjZtUEU

With this one you can still close your mouth, if you are surfing or whatever and dont want water into your mouth when falling etc. It is mor sturdy than the snorkel types.

Update 2017-08-10

Jon tells us they are shooting the vlog with 2 Panasonic GH5.

They have lenses all the way
Biggest: 100-400 mm (which means micro 4/3 will be the equivalent of 800 mm lens instead of a fullframe.)

He tells us that this camera shot with 180 frames per second (autofocus doesnt work then, sound doesnt work), which most Sony and other cameras shoot in 120. (this means more slow motion). And it doesnt crop when you shot slow motion.

Other lens: 85 mm, its a 42.5 (Leica made for the Panasonic) in  micro four thirds. They use this for example when filmen from inside the car. Jon thinks the image stabilisation is great. It outcompetes the RED because of this. "Being able to not have a gimbal is so sick."

And the one the use to film normally with is the 7-14 mm (think it's Leica lens). which is the equivalent of 14- 28mm

So the kind of have 2 cameras ready to go all times.

You have a timelapse function on the GH5.

Downsides to the GH5?

1. Autofocus, they have to constantly push the focus butten when filming. Especially problem when a person is alone to film himself or something.

2. Low light

But generally he thinks that for vlogging its the best camera. And he points out that he is not paid to say this.

Post zoom, they usually starts at 100% and then goes to 115/130 %.

The Search continues, Olympus OMD E-M1 4/3 camera?

Micro four-thirds?

The search for the optimal camera continues.. Just found this article by Chris Corradino. He seems to have change from a full DSLR camera to a mirrorless Olympus OMD E-M1. Fascinating read, check it out:

"The Battle is Over: My Micro 4/3 Camera Outsold my Full-Frame DSLR
 MAR 24, 2017" - Chris Corradino

I have to read up a little more about this, sound interesting. How is the video quality for example?? Whats the specification, frames per second, image stabilazation and so on..

Here's some quotes from Olympuspassion.com

"With my 12-40 and 40-150 I have an effective 24-300 range with a constant aperture of f2.8 in a weather-sealed system." - Chris Corradino, link

"For me, a bigger sensor wasn’t the marker of a great camera. The real a-ha moment was when I tested the full frame Canon 6D against the Olympus OMD EM10. The Olympus image was sharp from corner to corner while the Canon gear produced a very soft photo." - Chris Corradino
"On the OMD E-M1 I mounted the incredible Olympus 40-150mm f2.8. The OMD E-M10 was paired with the versatile 12-40mm f2.8. For extra reach I also brought the Olympus 1.4x extender. To say I was pleased would be an understatement." - Chris Corradino

Don't use music from Ahrix in your Youtube videos!

Warning for the unhonest Ahrix person (group or whatever), claiming:

► Want to use my music?
Give me credit and you're good.

I did just that but NO,... got a  "Contains copyrighted material" claim in the videohandler at Youtube. So this person is just wasting your time! My tips is don't use the music. Save your precios time for someone more serios.

YES! Even though I gave Ahrix credit, links etc (according to instructions).. The music isnt even that good.. for god sake.

The result is that I had to remove the music and put another one there.. Rerender the video, change music text in Video and "description".upload again.. Gaaahhh!! Just waste of my time, hope I can save you this hassle.

For info. I used the song "Nova"..
Conclusion.. You are not aloud to have ads in your videos using this music..i.e You cannot make money on your vidoes using this music = AVOID! There are lots of free alternatives you can use instead..

Jon Olsson pick if he had only one camera, Panasonic GH5

Jon changes his camera setup and buys a Panasonic GH5.

Resently he seems to have been using Leica Q, Sony A7S II or Sony a7R II which by the way is a 42MP full frame mirrorless camera with 5-axis image stabilization.

10:25 “Lens wise you already know that I love this super long lens. 100 to 400, 200 to 800 on like normal say Sony numbers. Love that thing, yeah you got that. Then we have the 7 to 14, light, super wide, not the radest lens but it’s cool to have wide shoots some times. We have the 42.5. These are Leica lenses that are made for the Panasonic.” – Jon Olsson
//One of his lenses is Panasonic, and the others seems to be Leicas in this video //
“And then we have the 12”  //Leica //
Benji: “On this guy”, //the one they’re filming with.//

“[...] If I were to pick one camera and have one camera only it be the GH5 without even like hesitating for a second. I think this camera blows the Sony A7S2 and A7R2 out of the water.” – Jon Olsson

Best sturdy affordable video tripod

Finding a affordable, lightweight fluid head is not easy. I've done a lot of research and ended right back where I startet. Getting a cheap (good enough) video tripod. Right now I'm thinking about getting a Velbon videomate 638.

I've gathered some information below.

Comparing Magnus VT-4000 towards Manfrotto head 701 HDV
Best Budget Video Tripod: Magnus VT-4000 Review

"Best budget tripod that I've ever used"

"Very similiar to the Manfrotto 702 HD"

Alternative:
JIEYANG JY0508 (looks pretty much the same, and head has gotten good Reviews)
Price: ~120 US dollar.
60 mm bowl
Weight (g): 4.17 kg
Folded Length (mm): 850
Max Extened Length (mm): 1610

The jy0606 has a bigger 75mm bowl.

The head jy0506 has flat base.

THE best £55 Fluid Head - Smooth & Great For Holding Sliders (Jie Yang JY0506)

---------------  --------------

Also sell under the name Fancier

Weifeng WF717, really hard to get a grip of these, seems to be Selling with diffrent size of bowl even though the same name.

Seems to break according to reviews..
only get the A versions... the other one has nasty legs.
Made in China by Ningbo Weifeng Image Equipment Group Co
Weifeng (E-Image) WF-717 tripod (ball mount)

It has a machined 75mm aluminium bown / half ball

Some random notes:
717 with fluid head
WF-717 or IE-717 – both the same
1330mm
quick release plate comes with ¼ and a 3/8 inch.
The best fluid head tripod for £130 - Fancier 717 (E-Image / Weifeng)
not really a choice for drag control (paning) but you can lock it.
but for tilt there is.

Extra tripod head (for slider)
IE-717AH or IE-717A or WF-717A – All the same)

Fancier FC-270A has the same legs as this but with a better head.

E-Image GH03F might be newer and better version. Original Manufacturer of Fancier 717 (E-Image / Weifeng) AKA Varavon 815FH

“Consider the Varavon 815FH, that has a flat base. You can then use it with bowl adapters if needed.”- Nitsan Simantov

Smaller bowl
WF-717H diameter 55mm (bearing 6kg)

Magnus VT-300 Video Tripod with Fluid Head
Looks pretty much like Kingjoy VT-1500
which looks pretty much like the...
Velbon videomate 638, (see video further down)
Cost about 80 US dollar.

"The Velbon Videomate 638/F Aluminum Tripod is a 4.37 lbs camera support with a fluid pan-and-tilt head. It can reach a maximum height of 5.61ft with the geared center column fully extended and it has a minimum working height of 4.54ft. This portable tripod folds down to 26.38". The Videomate 638 will support a maximum of 8.82 lbs. This is an ideal tripod for today's lightweight video cameras."

Which looks pretty much like the... Velbon videomate 638

More Velbon Review:

Other recommeded tripods

Velbon DV-7000 (has mostly good reviews, but Nitsan does not think the head works for heavier cameras (DSLR), he likes the legs though. He suggest using another head. Legs open wide = more stable.)
95% of the parts are metal.
Cheap plastic leg-fasteners will break off with heavy-use
Max 4,5 kg

BENRO A250FBH00, US $67.99

--------------------------------  ---------------------  ----------

Fancier FC-270A
Size of bowl: 75mm
FC-02H head (75mm Bowl Mount). Although these heads may provide smooth movements, keep in mind that bowl mounts are not the ones that make it easy for you to remove and use on Sliders.

Here's what I'd go with to do that on a budget:
Velbon dv7000 tripod and head
Konova stability arm
Jie Yang jy0506 head

Fancier, Weifeng and E-image are the same company.
Other companies buy from them and sometimes add their own names to it. like cowboystudio or varavon.

Smaller tripod
Varavon Baby T1 (hihat tripod)

Flat head
Varavon 815fh head (same as this but confirmed by varavon that it's now made with the better oil) (flat mount = you can use on slider)

Libec TH-X Head and Tripod System
A little more expensive but seams like a smart base, with 65 mm bown and still mountable on a slider.

A think this also goes by the name Xiaomi YI

Considerably cheaper than GoPro Hero 5 and still manages 1080 of 60 pfs.

Cons: The battery is not the best
