Update 2017-08-10

Jon tells us they are shooting the vlog with 2 Panasonic GH5.

They have lenses all the way
Biggest: 100-400 mm (which means micro 4/3 will be the equivalent of 800 mm lens instead of a fullframe.)

He tells us that this camera shot with 180 frames per second (autofocus doesnt work then, sound doesnt work), which most Sony and other cameras shoot in 120. (this means more slow motion). And it doesnt crop when you shot slow motion.

Other lens: 85 mm, its a 42.5 (Leica made for the Panasonic) in  micro four thirds. They use this for example when filmen from inside the car. Jon thinks the image stabilisation is great. It outcompetes the RED because of this. "Being able to not have a gimbal is so sick."

And the one the use to film normally with is the 7-14 mm (think it's Leica lens). which is the equivalent of 14- 28mm

So the kind of have 2 cameras ready to go all times.

You have a timelapse function on the GH5.

Downsides to the GH5?

1. Autofocus, they have to constantly push the focus butten when filming. Especially problem when a person is alone to film himself or something.

2. Low light

But generally he thinks that for vlogging its the best camera. And he points out that he is not paid to say this.

Post zoom, they usually starts at 100% and then goes to 115/130 %.

The Search continues, Olympus OMD E-M1 4/3 camera?

Micro four-thirds?

The search for the optimal camera continues.. Just found this article by Chris Corradino. He seems to have change from a full DSLR camera to a mirrorless Olympus OMD E-M1. Fascinating read, check it out:

"The Battle is Over: My Micro 4/3 Camera Outsold my Full-Frame DSLR
 MAR 24, 2017" - Chris Corradino

I have to read up a little more about this, sound interesting. How is the video quality for example?? Whats the specification, frames per second, image stabilazation and so on..

Here's some quotes from Olympuspassion.com

"With my 12-40 and 40-150 I have an effective 24-300 range with a constant aperture of f2.8 in a weather-sealed system." - Chris Corradino, link

"For me, a bigger sensor wasn’t the marker of a great camera. The real a-ha moment was when I tested the full frame Canon 6D against the Olympus OMD EM10. The Olympus image was sharp from corner to corner while the Canon gear produced a very soft photo." - Chris Corradino
"On the OMD E-M1 I mounted the incredible Olympus 40-150mm f2.8. The OMD E-M10 was paired with the versatile 12-40mm f2.8. For extra reach I also brought the Olympus 1.4x extender. To say I was pleased would be an understatement." - Chris Corradino
